Attractions

The old faithful
The old faithful is a cone geyser in the park. The old faithful was the first geyser in the park to receive a name. An eruption of the geyser can shoot up to 30,000 litres of boiling water to a height of 55 meters. To view the geyser click here.

Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone
The grand canyon of the Yellowstone is a large canyon in the Yellowstone National Park. The Canyon is  renowned because of its beautiful colours,  what is a result of hydrothermal alternation.

Hayden Valley
The Hayden Valley is the habitat for grizzly bear, bison, elk and other wildlife that Yellowstone has got to offer.

Yellowstone Lake
The Yellowstone lake is the largest lake that can be found in this National Park, the lake covers over 110 miles. An interesting fact is that the lake is more than 2000 meters above sea level.

Wildlife Viewing
There is a lot of wildlife to view within the park limits. Birds (osprey, bald eagles, and many, many other species,) bison, big cats, deer, wolves, fox, bears, big-horn sheep, elk, and other animals can all be seen within the park over a short period of time. The more time that you spend in the park, the more wildlife that you will see. Some animals, such as the wolves, bears, and the big-horn sheep are generally not viewable from the park roads. The spaces within the park are grand, so make sure to bring binoculars and/or a spotting scope to best view animals safely.

You can get to the park by Car:
Interstate-Highway 90, in Livingstone you must take Highway 89 for 80 km.

The 1988 fires in Yellowstone national park affected 800,000 acres (36 %) of the park. The fires started from a discarded cigarette.
