You can find the National Park of Tikal in the El Peten department of Guatamala. This city is the largest of the ancient ruined cities of the Maya civilization.
A civilisation that has been around for decades an leaving behind a great history.
Tikal is Guatemala's most famous cultural and natural preserve.

For many tourists Tikal is one of the most amazing locations they have ever been, many calling it the most spiritually powerful spot in the world.

Tikal was once (a long time ago) a wealthy metropolis of 100,000 inhabitants but the times are changed. Nowadays Tikal is a place where (eco)tourists and archaeologists come to discover and  study the amazing park.

Tikal is also famed for the palaces, temples, ceremonial platforms and plaza's that have been around for ages. The ancient maya's began building around 600 B.C and for the next 1500 years the area was one of the most important cities in the world.

Because of the spectacular scenery in combination with the archaeological remains ,Tikal makes  a great place for a spectacular vacation.

The ecosystem of Tikal's national park is very impressive, there are over 300 different kinds of trees.
