About the park
Murchison falls is a National Park in North Western Uganda around the Lake Albert. Trough the Park the White Nile streams, with high speed waters and waterfalls. The 3860 km ² park is named after the Murchison Waterfalls.
At the top of this waterfall the 100 meters wide Nile forces its way out trough a seven meter gap and tumbles down 43 meters. This effect is amazing and is one of the hot spots of the National Park.
The park is renowned for its rich wildlife, you can find all sorts of wild animals, like giraffes, rhino's and different kind of birds here.
The park is still recovering from the massacres by poaching and troops of the regime of the former president Idi Amin.
