Skiing
Mount Cook is an excellent place for skiing and snowboarding. There are possibilities for guided tours or you can get a ski pass.

Mountaineering
The Mount Cook is a Mountain especially for advanced climbers. This isn't the easiest of climbs, so you must be well experienced to climb the Mount Cook.
 
Scenic flights
If you want to have an aerial view of the National Park, flight seeing is available. You will fly above the park and have a stunning view.

Tracks
There are a lot of tracks in Mount Cook. Walking is the most popular way to get around in the park.

Glacier Explorers Tasman Glacier
Don't miss the Tasman Glaciers, here you can discover the spectacular ice formations which have calved in the murky waters of Lake Tasman. There is a minibus departing from Mount Cook National Park each day to the glaciers.


Tourist accommodations and accessibility

The Mount Cook airport is near the entrance of the park and near Aoraki Mount Cook Village. In Aoraki Mount Cook Village you can find hotels and inns in every price range.

In the winter this is a place for skiing and snowboarding, in the summers when the weather is mild it is more a place for trailing and climbing.

The best time to visit depends on the fact if you want to enjoy winter sports or you want to enjoy the mild summers. In the winter Mount Cook is transformed in a place for skiing and snowboarding.
The weather conditions can vary because of the differences in altitude because of the mountains.
