Discover the nature of Komodo National Park

There are a lot of 'special' animals who live in Komodo National Park, we will give a short list of animals who live in the park.

Komodo DragonThe Komodo Dragon
There are over 5,700 giant lizards in the area around Komodo National Park, they are called the Komodo Dragon mostly because of the aggressive nature of the animal. The special thing about this animal is that it only exist on the island of Komodo. There is no other place in the world where this animal can be found, that is one of the reasons why this animal is so special. An other reason can be that this animal can be so immensely big, an Komodo Dragon can reach up to 3 meters.



The macaque is a monkey that can be found in The Komodo National Park, this animal is also known as the crab-eating Macaque, because of the fact that the animal eats a lot of crab. Their diet consist of more than only crab, they also eat leaves, flowers, frogs, fishes and bird chicks. This animal is often unafraid of humans and that has often resulted in aggressive interactions with people.

A fruit bat is a bat that can only be found in tropical surroundings, this animal can not be compared with a normal bat, because a fruit bat do not use echolocation . Its diet consist of fruit and nectar from flowers, Large fruit bats can reach up to 40 cm and attain a wingspan of 150 cm.



A Langur is a leaf monkey that can be found in South-east Asia. They are called leaf monkeys because they eat mainly leaves. The Langur has got a long tail and a slim body, they can weigh up to 20kg and measure up to 60 cm.

Porcupine are rodents with a coat of sharp spines, these coats protect them from predators. The animals are about 70 cm in length and weighing about 15 kg. These animals can only be found in tropical regions.
