There are a lot of 'special' animals who live in the Grand Canyon, we will give a short list of animals who live in the park.
The California Condor
The California condor is a vulture. It is the largest bird that can be found in North America. The life expectancy of a California Condor is over 50 years. You can find these threatened animals in the Grand Canyon National Park flying around searching for a prey.
Bighorn sheep
A Bighorn sheep is a mountain sheep in North America, you can find these animals in the Grand Canyon. These animals are recognisable because of their Big horns, hints the name. They can weigh up to 135 kg and their horns alone weigh around the 14 kg. Most of their time they graze on grasses.
The Gila Monster
The Gila monster is a venomous lizard that can be found in the Grand Canyon. It is a heavy lizard that can be over 60 cm long and can be dangerous. Because of the fact the animal is a bit slow, there aren't that many cases in which they have bitten human. They are easy to recognise because of their black body with red spots on it.
The Kingsnake
Kingsnakes are snakes that can be found in the Grand Canyon. An interesting fact about these animals is that they are highly resistant to the venom of other snakes, and they even make them their prey. Their diet consist of lizards, rodents, birds and eggs.
