Wildlife
The park's wildlife includes the following animals.
Bison's
Bison's are big mammals that can be found in the National Park Berchtesgaden. There are two species of Bison's that still exist, The American Bison and the European Bison. The European Bison is also known as the Wisent, this animal can weigh up to 900 kg and can be 2 meter tall. The European Bison is an endangered species.
Birds
Berchtesgaden is a great place, for spotting birds. There are over thousands of birds nesting in the in the southern German park. Birds that can be spotted are eagles, falcons and many more.
The Chamois
The Chamois is a goat like animal that you can find in the National Park. This animal is a mountain dweller, and is well adapted in living in the mountains . An Chamois reaches a height of 75 cm and can weigh up to 50 kg
